We always thought Simon Cowell was the man who wore the trousers in the relationship but it looks like Terri Seymour was in fact the one who called the shots.

In a joint interview on US TV show Extra, Terri has admitted that she was the one who dumped him – and she did it via text. Ouch.

When asked why they had broken up, Simon said: ‘Because Terri decided to dump me. You sent me a text.’

Terri replied: ‘I didn’t dump you. It was just time.’

The pair confirmed their split earlier this month after six years together.

But it definitely looks like there are no hard feelings between the pair.

‘We had a great six years, and we’re the best of friends,’ added Terri.

Simon also laughed off reports he had given Terri a £2.3million Beverly Hills pad and £2.3million in cash as a parting gift.

‘That is actually not a true story,’ said the X Factor judge. ‘If anything I should be getting the money. Rumours come around, there was no £5million, no.’
