x factor’s daniel backed by the prime minister!

He may not have had the support from Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh, but X Factor reject Daniel Evans had two big fans – the Prime Minister and his wife.

Daniel, who was booted off the show on Saturday, received a huge confidence boost from Gordon Brown after Simon said his only fans were over 60.

‘Can I just say that the next time Simon says that you are only supported by the over-60s, you can tell him that my wife Sarah and I disagree, although you would be better off mentioning Sarah rather than me, as she is much further away from 60 than I am!’ wrote the PM.

Daniel was finally kicked off the ITV show after failing to win the judges votes in a sing-off with Rachel Hylton.

And he has strongly denied playing on his wife’s death to win more votes.

‘That hurt me more than anything. Now I worry to mention my wife in case people think, ‘Here is goes again,’’ said Daniel to the Daily Mirror.

Daniel won the judges over in his first audition where he sung Sometimes When We Touch as a tribute to his wife Jacquline, who died last year following complications during childbirth.
