women-washing-and-ironingTo celebrate 100 years of cleaner clothes, Persil have taken a look at how far women have come in the last 100 years.

Women have fought for equality, more social rights and a place outside of the home especially in the work place. It looks like women today have never had it so good, or have they?

A major new study of 21st women shows that perhaps not everything has been for the greater good. The report published by Persil to mark the centenary suggests 56% of women in their 20’s wish they had better sewing skills and 40% wishing they had better skills in the kitchen.

The research also showed that whether women worked or not, four in ten partners and husbands still did less than half the housework and one in ten do not do any at all! Technology is hailed as a contributor allowing women to free up their time.

The invention of the washing machine has made a big difference shaving off hours of manual labor!

Watch the fantastic video below marking 100 years of Persil featuring a time line of what women have achieved.
