EAST unveils new limited edition collections for Autumn/Winter 2011
With summer collections making way for Autumn/Winter lines, EAST is launching two exclusive new capsule collections – EAST Boutique and EAST Artisan.
Launching this September, each range interprets the label’s Eastern roots for the aspirational shopper to create truly individual and covetable pieces. Although both inspired by traditional Indian techniques and textiles, each range has a distinct hand print.
Each collection will debut with 15 pieces, and all items are produced in limited edition quantities to preserve exclusivity. By introducing the new labels, EAST is able to broaden the brand’s appeal to new age groups, along with those who want higher-end statement and occasion pieces. EAST Boutique is a premium collection, based on beautiful fabrics paired with exquisite detailing. Handcrafted beading and embellishment runs throughout the collection, with intricate decorations used to adorn classic shapes which can be taken from day to evening.
Rich palettes of bronze and gold lift inky blacks and compliment the jewel shades peppered throughout the collection, perfectly balanced with swathes of romantic silk and satin alongside rich velvets and flock prints that add further depth and dimension. Every piece is designed to last the test of time and become an heirloom of the future.
EAST Artisan is a heritage collection of striking and individual pieces that has craftsmanship at its core, with each and every piece being hand-worked in India by skilled local Artisans.
Each item, from floor length dresses to quilted coats, is infused with authenticity – with hand-block prints and Indian cottons. Printed by hand, flowing dresses and tops are finished with fringing and appliqué for a modern twist.
Texture is key throughout the collection, used to beautiful effect on quilted coats. Colour and print will take you back to the souk with a 70’s twist through deep reds, russets and pretty paisley prints highlighted with black and ivory.
