It’s that time of year again when the actor in all of us makes an appearance. From pretending we’re pleased with another pair of socks, to offering our services in the kitchen, Christmas is a time when we are most likely to say something…but mean something else.

New research from Vodafone UK reveals the top ten most common sayings we’re likely to say or hear this Christmas - and what we actually mean by them. Top of the list is “just what I’ve always wanted”, which is uttered most often, though not that convincingly as three in four of us immediately assume they mean just the opposite. Other Top 10 fake festive phrases revealed by the research include: “no, of course the turkey isn’t overdone,” and “of course I’m not drunk” which has a believability rating of less than 5%! Don’t forget those festive text messages too and realising who we sent them to the morning after….

If you’re confused with all the festive jargon - don’t panic! Here to help us through this season’s verbal minefield is actress and top Mock the Week comedienne Lucy Porter - who has her own interpretations on the most common festive lies.

Police confirmed that no further action was to be taken after the housekeepers were arrested back in October.

The situation arose after numerous items belonging to the Beckhams started to appear on an internet auction site including clothes and football boots.

Following their arrest, the housekeepers, who are a couple, said the allegations were ‘fabricated nonsense!’

The party, which was taking place in the nightclub Movida, was being attended by pretty much everyone else bar Eoghan who obviously realised that there was no point even trying to get in when you look 12.

But Diana gave it a shot and was flatly refused entry - oh diddums.

Still, she managed to keep a brave face on as well as her shoes!!!!

The Saturdays are about to throw themselves headfirst into your consciousness like a five-woman whirlwind, and bring back some much-needed, shameless fun to the charts. As well as being sassy, talented and purveyors of some of the most instantly likeable songs you’ll have heard for eons, these girls just wanna have fun. They don’t take themselves too seriously, their tracks are genuinely brilliant and adults are going to love them just as much as kids. What’s not to like?

Frankie, Una, Rochelle, Mollie and Vanessa are ready to take the UK music scene over!

We caught up with Frankie from the group.

How are you feeling about the success you’ve had so far?

It’s weird, this time last year we were all wondering when everything was going to kick off and what was going to happen and suddenly we’re on our third single. We’re busy everyday, it’s mental!

You’ve been performing a lot recently. I heard you’re at G-A-Y in January. Are you looking forward to that?

I love doing G-A-Y, it’s so much fun and the crowd is always awesome. Lots of big artists have performed there and this will be our third time now. We also did the Jingle Bell Ball which was really cool. We couldn’t believe we were on the bill with the Sugababes, The Pussycat Dolls and Enrique Iglesias. It was our first national thing as The Saturdays.

How did you get together as a group?

Me and Rochelle knew each other from S Club Juniors and we knew the people at the label so they had us in mind for the auditions and our management knew Vanessa. When they heard Una and Mollie they liked them straight away as well. It was quite cool how it all got put together.

Did you get a chance to write anything on this album or is it something for album number two?

We just left it to everyone else to help us find our sound so it was kind of nice to just sit back. We’ve already started writing the second album and it’s going to be really good to be more involved with it. I haven’t done much writing before even though a couple of the other girls have. It’s quite fun for me!

How have your lives changed since the album was released?

We’re just a lot busier and a lot more people know who we are now which is cool. Everyone keeps saying they see us everywhere but we don’t even notice we’re doing it so don’t get to see what we’re on.

Do you hope to have the kind of success that The Pussycat Dolls and Girls Aloud have had?

Yeah definitely! Especially like Girls Aloud who have been around for years and have proven themselves. For a while people weren’t sure about them and didn’t think they were cool but everyone loves them now.

You did a few shows with Girls Aloud. Did you ever speak to them?

When we were on tour with them we would see them in the canteen and stuff everyday and they were always very nice and used to come and sit with us. They never really gave us advice because they were probably weary of sounding like they were preaching to us but they did say if we ever need any advice then we can always give them a call.

Is there anyone who you look up to that you’d really like to meet or already have met?

I met Victoria Beckham when I was younger. She was the person I had always wanted to meet. Other than that I’m not sure. Rihanna walked past us at the Jingle Bell Ball, I would like to meet her.

Who would you like to work with in the future?

I think it would be cool to work with an Indie band that is totally different to us. I don’t know who yet but that would be good.

What do you listen to at home?

I listen to most things but I like Kings of Leon and Boys Like Girls. That kind of stuff. Quite different to what we do!

The album is really fun. People seem to be too cool to have fun these days. What do you think?

It’s kind of our thing. We’re not trying to be anything or acting like we’re cool Pop or too different. That’s why we’re getting away with it. I think people are ready for a bit more Pop at the moment to be honest. There’s been a lot of Indie out and I’m into that kind of music but even I’m ready for some Pop you can have a good time to. The snobbishness of that is wearing off now and because we’re open about it nobody’s really pulled us up on it.

Do your looks usually get pulled by the stylist or do you have an input?

When we’re working they pretty much dress us in things they’ve chosen for us. Although a lot of the time we’re wearing the same dress we always make sure that there’s something different about it for each person. We personally feel we have our own individual style and we’d like to keep it that way. Our stylists are really good at honing in on that. As a new band you need something to remember you by so right now we’re using the colours where each girl wears a different colour. The longer you’re around the more you can wear different things to each other so it can take a while. We haven’t even been together for a year yet. I started off as ‘the blue one’ but then we mixed it up. I love our clothes!

Where do you shop when you’re on your own?

I’m not really a designer person and I stick to places like Urban Outfitters, Topshop and American Apparel. I change my mind about what I’m into a lot so if I buy too many expensive clothes I’d be broke by the end of the month! I also like All Saints and Religion. We were at The Clothes Show the other day and they gave us loads of free clothes it was really cool.

You’re together a lot at the moment. Are there ever disagreements?

We don’t ever really disagree as such. We’re really good at understanding that girls have their ‘off’ moments. To be honest with you we’re usually just like ‘I’m in a bad mood today.’ We’ve never really had any disagreements. There’s just no point in it.

Who’s the messy one?

I think Vanessa can be pretty messy! She won’t mind me saying it.

Apparently it has all come about because Kate Moss visited X Factor and the girls got talking.

In what would be a fantastic marketing stunt, with a range of cothes that no matter how good or bad would obviously sell, it now appears that Kate Moss - you know her, she is the stick thin one who never speaks and likes to appear marketing her own range for about 12 seconds - is trying to convince TopShop boss to bring Cheryl onboard.

Well when he says quit, what he means is leave as a judge, which, and lets be honest, will mean that the show will lose its biggest pulling figure.

Apparently Simon is contracted to do one more of the shows but his manic schedule including American Idol and Britains Got Talent has finally started to take its toll.

He has also hinted that Dannii may choose to leave after this series and that the real winner, besides Alexandra Burke, was Cheryl Cole.

So what will the music mogul come up with next?

What a show it was with both Alexandra and JLS putting in world class performances.

We also have to salute Munchkin Eoghan who was very professional after being voted off.

Back to Alexandra, and it has emerged that her mentor and friend Cheryl Cole has told her to keep away from men and to concentrate on her career.

Alexandra put on the performance of her life on Saturday before being proclaimed the outright winner.

Then in a first for X Factor they announced how the voting had been throughout the contest with Eoghan having won 6 of the shows and Alexandra only getting 2 including the final (which of course if the most important!).

According to The Sun, a suggestion was made that Cliff would have his own bathroom away from the main house which would not be filmed - removing the whole point of the show.

Well the boss at CBB did not back down and although Cliff will not be one of the housemates they are confident they have enough names to make it a good show.

The sixth series of CBB will be back on our TV screens in January.

On a night out clubbing with his friends Peter Andre’s night was spoilt by a gatecrasher, his wife!

If watching Eoghan running at full speed onto stage, yanking Diana away from her mic as she was mid flow in her song wasn’t a sure enough sign then what is?

Anyone could have thought it was encouraged!?!

Diana had originally completely dismissed the reports that there was more to the munchkin than just a friend but very quickly then admitted that her relationship with her student boyfriend was over.

So if and when Eoghan leaves on saturday will we see a repeat performance from Diana, tearfully running onto stage as if life was over?
