APRIL 22nd: REALITY TV STARS
Updated: 10:35, Wednesday April 23, 2008
It’s been a busy week in the world of reality TV stars.
Since leaving the Jungle in November 2007, soap actress/ reality queen Gemma Atkinson has put her boob exposing antics to one side for the time being, to walk the Great Wall of China to benefit a breast cancer charity. The ex Hollyoaks honey couldn’t resist fitting in a few more sexy shoots with the lad’s mags and a couple of daily tabloids before setting off to Asia to start the 5 day hike.
So, after we all forgot her after she came out of Hollyoaks and ignored the late night drivel that was the spin off “Hollyoaks in the City”, Gems swiftly took all the reality TV work she possibly could, incorporating her glamour modelling with “Soapstar, Superstar” by coming on each night, breasts spilling out of whatever her clever stylist put her in to keep her on the show longer. Then came “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here” where she showed she was more than a big old pair of boobies by getting stuck into tasks like the bungee jumps, and contending with jungle snakes... like Marc Bannerman. So all in all Gemma is doing quite well off the back of reality TV and using her new found fame to promote her 42 mile walk in China, and herself!
On a sorrier note it has not been a brilliant week for Chanelle Hayes. Voted the least talented celebrity (celebrity???!!) in Britain beating the likes of Heather Mills and Pete Doherty was a massive blow for the Big Brother bore, but also a sex tape had been leaked to the press. Call me a cynic but isn’t it a coincidence that this tape has come out just in time to give her a bit more publicity for her MTV show and release of her first (and obviously last) pop single? The tape is not as explicit as you may think so is this a clever ploy to draw more attention to the Wakefield girl? We’re trying to forget you Chanelle, stop giving us reminders of your whining and VB wannabe image. It’s as irritating as reading another story about Kerry Katona day after day. The song titled “I want it” will be the kind of song you catch yourself tapping your foot to and then when you find out who sings/screeches it, you will be so mortified with your lack of appreciation for music that you will be socially disowned if you ever admit to your blatant faux par.
But anyway, good luck Chanelle sweetie, you will need it... and you might as well get down the job centre after the single’s release. Do you still get a well done if you make it into the top 100 just for the effort you put in to dance around and shake it in your grundies whilst gyrating on a model in your 10p video? We shall see...
