Our favourite freak show, Britain's Got Talent, is back on the box this weekend.

So strap yourself in for a rollercoaster ride of epic proportions.

The weird, the wonderful and the wacky are all here – and ready for the ultimate rejection from the man we love to hate, Simon Cowell.

We've seen the first show – and it doesn't fail to deliver. Our personal fave was the club entertainer who did a one-man Boyzone act. We thought he was was gay when he was being interviewed by Ant and Dec.

But he told them: 'I've two kids, ten and 14. Strange names, eh?'

Much laughter.

But did he get through? You'll have to wait.

Now, it's time for our clip of Joan – aged 74, and her sidekick next door neighbour. She lay down on a bed of nails and, for her final trick, put a concrete slab on her sidekick's back and smashed it with a sledgehammer.

Amanda Holden had to look away. But will you?

The auditions featured were from London, Manchester and Cardiff, and last year's winner - remember - was a certain mobile phone salesman called Paul Potts.
