LEONA LEWIS' THROAT NIGHTMARE

Leona Lewis could be facing surgery after suffering from a throat infection.

The X Factor winner has been told getting her tonsils cut could be the only solution to stop her recurring throat problems.

Leona suffered from tonsillitis back in 2006 and again last year.

‘Leona has been consulting top throat surgeons in Britain and America,’ reveals a source to The Sun.

‘She has been told she could need an operation to put an end to the problem for good.  Any operations are scary.’

Leona is currently soaring up the US charts with her single Bleeding Love and is on the road to bagging herself a number 1.

But the grueling schedule is taking its toll on the singer.

‘She needs to try and rest because problems tend to flare up when she is tried and run-down,’ adds the source.

A spokesman for Leona confirmed the singer may be facing the chop.

‘Leona would like to reassure fans this is a routine operation which will not affect her voice.

‘She has sought specialists’ advice.  If an operation becomes necessary it would be a routine procedure.’
